This year our class hopes to work together, play together, have fun together and grow together. Many worthwhile and character enhancing lessons can be learnt as we participate in daily activities and interact with each other.
This term, Year 2 will be exploring the broad themes All About Me and “We are all Different”. We will be incorporating some of the class’s favourite Dr Seuss books from last year that encourage us to read, rhyme, spell, write and count. They may also help us think about rainy day activities we like, rules for home and school, stranger danger, playing games, food choices and emergency situations (remember that mischievous cat in the hat and those green eggs?)
Because we are individuals with particular strengths, needs and interests, maths, reading, spelling and writing are taught in whole class, small group and individual situations. Art/craft, SOSE, technology and science are usually integrated with any theme work we do.

We would appreciate any help with the many activities we participate in.
Swimming lessons are on Wednesday. We need to bring togs, towel, sunscreen and protective shirt and tie up our long hair. Also parent assistance would be very appreciated.
Our class will change books at the School Library every Thursday afternoon.
Homework will be sent home every Monday in a homework folder and will be due back the following Monday. Our homework folder will contain :
Don’t forget we have Sip and Crunch (fruit/veggies/water) ever day at about 9.50 a.m.
Please feel free to come and speak to our teacher, Mrs Cathy Byrne, at a mutually convenient time or contact her via the office, if you have concerns or questions. As the year progresses everyone in our class hopes to become more independent and self-directed.
