Literacy and Numeracy support is provided two days per week at Cooran State School. Students who have academic difficulties are identified from teacher observation and test results. Support is provided in small groups or in some cases the support teacher provides individual assistance in whole classes.
Progress is closely monitored and on achieving a satisfactory level students are returned to mainstream class activities. Instruction is linked to ability level and student interest. A variety of games and practical activities (cooking, model building) are used to motivate students.
